Major Current Projects at WFF
  • Sex Laws Database: Now being developed by the Foundation in partnership with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, this national database of sex laws will be a major tool supporting advocacy efforts to reform America's antiquated and unjust sex laws.

  • Freedom of Speech and Sexual Expression:  Woodhull is monitoring and working to defeat sex-negative legislation at the Federal and State levels, including testifying at hearings on obscenity and sex work, as well as working with our allies to create sex-positive model legislation..

  • Lawrence v. Texas: Woodhull is working with a variety of national and local groups to expand the protection of our privacy rights recognized by this landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision.

  • Continuing Legal Education: Working with a group of experienced civil liberties lawyers, the Foundation is developing a series of CLE programs on sexual freedom issues.

  • Changing laws at the state and local level: In conjunction with local advocacy groups, the Federation works at the state and local levels to repeal unjust and outmoded laws and to change oppressive or discriminatory enforcement practices.

  • Research: With our allies, Woodhull is developing the Sexual Freedom InfoNet, an online portal that will include resources for debunking untruths in the media, a Sexual Freedom Data Archives, a Sexual Freedom Bill of Rights and Responsibilities, and an annual summary of Supreme Court decisions that affect freedom of speech and sexual expression as they relate to sexual freedom as a fundamental human right.

  • Speaking on Sexual Freedom: The Foundation's officers, directors and advisory board members are active in major conferences across the country and internationally, including a first-time-ever Sexual Freedom Track at "Creating Change," America's foremost lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender social justice conference.
