The right to sexual health and pleasure is realized in the integration of the somatic, emotional, intellectual, and social aspects of sexual being in positively enriching ways. It affirms the freedom to enjoy erotic experiences, whether solo or shared. But it also has effects beyond the erotic: when we are free to engage in healthy, informed sexual lives, we can improve our physical and mental wellbeing and elevate our relationships with ourselves and others.
Sexual health and pleasure are interconnected with various human rights, including the right to health, the right to privacy, and the right to education.
