Rosalie M. Wong founded the grassroots Facebook group SWEEP New Jersey, a sisterhood of like-minded women dedicated to positive change in their NJ communities. Inspired by the national group Red, Wine and Blue, Rosalie’s vision has grown from one volunteer to a vibrant community of over 1,700 members, with 40 county leaders impacting 18 of New Jersey’s 21 counties.
Created in 2022, SWEEP NJ’s mission is to mobilize voters, combat political extremism, and empower NJ women to actively participate in the democratic process. The group has formed alliances to register new voters, support LGBTQ+ students at school board meetings, and advocate for the NJ Freedom to Read Act.
