Join us on April 29 for a Woodhull Human Rights Commission exploring violence against sex workers. April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, and this Human Rights Commission will call attention to the human rights violations against sex workers. It will highlight the critical need to remove the stigma and discrimination that contribute to those abuses. In 2011, the United States agreed on the International stage that violence against sex workers is a human rights violation. The government agreed to be held accountable for correcting those human rights violations. We’ll be examining how well they’ve done at keeping that promise!

Our panel of experts, including sex worker advocates, human rights defenders, and policymakers, will discuss:

  • The human rights violations and violence faced by sex workers
  • How criminalization increases vulnerability to abuse
  • Strategies to improve safety and access to justice for sex workers
  • The importance of recognizing sex work as work

We’ll hear powerful firsthand accounts from sex workers about their experiences.

Join us as we stand in solidarity with sex workers and call for policies that protect their human rights, safety, and dignity. Together, we can work towards a world free from violence against sex workers.
