Jacqueline Allain

As program coordinator for Freedom to Learn, Jacqueline Allain designs and supports coalition-building efforts against educational gag orders and politically motivated restrictions on teaching and learning in our nation’s educational institutions.
Allain holds a PhD in History from Duke and an MEd in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Virginia. Her academic writing has appeared in the journals Slavery & Abolition and the Journal of Women’s History. She is the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching from Duke University, the Albert J. Beveridge Award from the American Historical Association, and the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship.
